We are back with the latest features of Boombirds!

Hello there!

We hope everyone is staying indoors and safe!

At Boombirds, we have been as busy as ever, determined to develop some must-have features for our customers. Many of you have been asking for a Beat Plan, which will go a long way in planning and optimizing on-field operations.

So, what IS a Beat plan? In a nutshell, it is a route plan made for field staff or marketing executives to visit several client locations at a pre-defined frequency. These visits are for many different purposes with some examples being to handle order collection, service deliveries, and visual merchandising - to name a few.

So, if you are looking at a way to manage your field operations better, look no further! As a back-office coordinator charting out a plan to ensure all your clients are visited regularly you just need to use this feature to optimize your field team’s time!

Here is a deeper dive into some of its key features:

For Back Office teams:

  • Arrange upfront location-based beat plan schedules for the field staff to service one, or more, customers and to complete order deliveries in a timely manner

  • View customer locations in a beat plan on both a map and grid view, with instant re-ordering of beat locations.

  • Live track field staff engaged in beat trips from the back office

  • Get more visibility into the actions performed by field staff at every customer location

  • Receive photographic proofs of visit at every location, along with the details of services created, or completed, at every customer location, instantly.

  • Receive notifications from the field of all the important actions performed during the beat trip

For Field Staff:

  • Quickly see which customer locations need to be visited, when and what needs to be done during each visit

  • Plan ahead for easier and faster completion of services or order

  • Start and complete visits to customer locations using the ‘Service Beat’ option in the Boombirds app on any Android device.

  • See a view of all current activities related to a customer – including details of ongoing or completed service requests – at every location visited.

  • Create and fulfill service requests on the go for customers at their location

  • Capture photographs at every location visited, as proof of visit

  • Receive and log customer acknowledgments for completion of visits with a digital signature which can be forwarded for confirmation

Here are some of the other major improvements that were done to make Boombirds easier and more intuitive to use:

  • The side navigation menu wears a spruced up and a more structured look, for easy navigation and ease of access!

  • More power to Channel Administrators managing client networks, by providing them access to grant or revoke support user permissions to client networks and monitoring them

  • User roles and permissions are now displayed more prominently on the network dashboard, for better usability

  • A new service type to manage product/order returns and for store merchandising, was introduced

  • Service request creation is now faster, with the display of customers now being based on the groups they belong to, rather than the default ‘All Customers’ group.

  • The trip log page of the trip board underwent a complete makeover and now includes a detailed account of all the actions performed by field staff at every location they visit!

  • The option of automating the Service Title and Consignment ID/Service ID using the mobile app by scanning a barcode during service request creation!

Product Tours – to guide first time or beginner users on the features and functionalities of the application, were implemented for better user understanding.

  • The order of display of pending, active, and completed trips on the trip board was updated – the default view will now be in the order of trip creation, with the latest trips created displayed at the top and the older ones following it.

  • Well, we also did some other minor fixes and cleaned up bits and pieces that we now trust will make your Boombirds experience even better!
